Operation Rio Grande Expungement Day
Date: April 5, 2018
Time: 8:30-2:00 PM
Location: St. Vincent de Paul Dining Hall, 437 West 200 South
Having a criminal record makes it difficult for individuals to obtain housing and employment, and prevents some individuals from ever being able to move on from their criminal past to live healthy, productive lives. The expungement process can also be costly, making it out of reach for many individuals seeking to move on from past mistakes. The Litigation Section of the Utah State Bar encourages you to join us for a free CLE and pro bono project to help individuals being served by Operation Rio Grande expunge their criminal records.
This will be a two-part event:
8:30-10:00: Greg Skordas will provide a free CLE to train attorneys on the expungement process. Breakfast will be served and 1.5 hours of CLE credit will be provided.
10:00-2:00: Those attending the CLE will stay for a pro bono event aimed to help individuals clear their criminal records. Each attorney will be paired with an individual seeking to expunge a record. Attorneys will be helping clients fill out initial applications and completing court petition paperwork.
